STROKE victims in our region are receiving better care, health chiefs have claimed.
NHS bosses in north-east Essex say diagnosis has improved since 2008 with more heart conditions which can lead to strokes being spotted.
There has also been a 71 per cent increase in minor strokes being treated within 24 hours.
And more than half of patients now benefit on a service which focuses on getting people who have suffered mild to moderate strokes out of hospital as quickly as possible and back into their own home for intensive rehab.
Ninety-six per cent of patients said they were satisfied with how the service helped them return home from hospital quickly.
