'Mr Thompson' taught me Latin at Harwich High School during the years 1961-65, and the photo is exactly as I remember him - smiling and twinkly, but a terrier with the Latin! I saw him from time to time about the town after I left, and he never seemed to age. Best wishes and sympathy to his family, he will be well remembered with affection by his many past students.

In fond memory of Mr Thompson who was my Latin teacher at Harwich County High School from 1966-1971. He was an excellent and much loved teacher and a very kind gentleman. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time. ****

Please accept our condolences on the loss of “Mr Thompson”. My Mum Mary Stevens (RIP age 84 2020) was taught Latin at the Grammar School and then worked at the Harwich School. And I was taught Latin by Mr Thompson in 1979-81. What an amazing life of teaching the generations in Harwich. Such a quiet lovely man…..a true gentleman with a smile and a glint in his eye. The picture is as I remember him. Our thoughts are with you.
