SOLICITOR Dominic Graham is standing for election for the Liberal Democrats.
The Colchester councillor is originally from Newcastle and studied at the University of Central Lancashire and the College of Law in York.
In his work he specialises in medical negligence.
Mr Graham is currently a ward councillor for Mile End in Colchester after being elected in 2014.
He was chosen unanimously to replace previous parliamentary candidate for Harwich and North Essex James Raven.
Mr Graham will focus on the NHS as part of his campaign to be elected.
He said: “As I specialise in medical negligence I am acutely aware of what is going on.
“At the moment there is a crisis in the NHS."
A keen footballer and golfer he lives in Colchester with his wife Gemma and young family.
