A CARE home has installed an exclusive visitor area so loved ones can safely meet residents once again.

Lime Court Care Home, in Dovercourt, set up the area, which adheres to guidelines set by the Department of Health and Social Care guidance, on November 25.

The area is in line with the Government's current coronavirus guidelines and thorough risk assessments have taken place to ensure the space is as safe as possible for residents, visitors and team members.

An intercom system has also been fitted to allow clear communication between residents and their loved ones.

Helen Bennett, regional operations director for Essex, said: "Every visit will have infection control protocols and safe social distancing in place, including a hand sanitiser station and fresh PPE available before entry.

"After each visit, the area will be deep-cleaned to ensure all surfaces are wiped down and disinfected.

"As per our previous arrangements, visits will need to be pre-booked in advance by contacting us by phone or email."

The care home will be able to allow a maximum of two people to attend the area per visit.

She added: "Outside of your booked visiting times, please do continue to contact our care home to arrange any video calls with your relative, and please be assured that our frontline team members are continuing to work extremely hard during these unprecedented times to keep your loved one safe, happy and well cared for.

"Thank you once again for your patience and support on this matter, and we look forward to welcoming you once again for safe visits in the coming weeks.

"We are hopeful that the Government Guidance on testing will enable a more personable visit in the near future."
