AN animal rescue charity has appealed for help after discovering a ‘disgusting’ pond filled with litter.
The Farm Animal Rescue has asked for assistance after claiming the small pond by Dovercourt Community Centre is polluted with rubbish.
In a statement the charity said: “We are going to go and clear it out as best we can, as frankly it is absolutely disgusting.
“It’s not fair that the wildlife should have to live in this filth because people are too lazy to take rubbish home.
“You shouldn’t have to explain to your children why ducklings are swimming next to broken vodka bottles and rusted Stella cans.
“It is absolutely polluted with litter.”
There is an abundance of wildlife that live in and around the pond, including ducks, squirrels, foxes, deer and hawks to name a few.
The charity have appealed for people who have waders and litter pickers to get in touch on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheFarmAnimalRescue
