CANINES and their owners are being invited to a dog engagement event in Dovercourt.
Essex Police is holding the event today (Wednesday) at the car park next to Dovercourt Swimming Pool, in Wick Lane.
PC Jed Raven, the force's wildlife and heritage crime officer, will be joining the community policing team for the afternoon.
The event is running between noon and 3pm.
Officers will be joined by the Tendring Council's dog warden, in company with Terry Fowles from Essex Dog Watch.
Officers will be present to offer advice on basic dog control, microchipping, livestock attacks and the importance of cleaning up after your dog.
They will also be offering prevention advice with regards to burglary and theft of dogs which has skyrocketed in the past year.
Visitors are welcome to bring their dog along to the event.
