IT was a building firm who let the dogs out during a paw-friendly event at one of its development sites.
Lawford based builders Rose put on its first Paws on the Green event at its flagship development in Lawford Green.
The event was inspired by an increase in the number of dog owners across all its new home sites.
Businesses in the area that provide services or supplies for dogs were invited along to showcase their offerings to Rose homeowners as a way of supporting local business and introducing new homeowners to services available on their new doorstep.
The event was deemed a success with prizes galore for the winners of the fun dog classes such as ‘Dog with the Waggiest Tail’ and ‘Fastest Mutt on Four Paws’.
Attendees even got to go home with their very own ‘doggie bags’ filled with treats and toys, donated by the businesses attending.
Alex Leader, Rose’s director of sales, said: “When engaging with our homeowners we like to look outside of the box, so when we noticed an increase in dog owners we thought: ‘Let’s put on a dog show’.
“Mix in local businesses connected with our furry friends and hey presto, Sunday saw our first event.”
The day was also about supporting two dog charities, with more than £500 raised for the Greyhound Trust and Paws for New Beginnings.
