A BUSY high street was closed after a fire was found inside a popular supermarket.
High Street, in Dovercourt, was closed by police as fire crews tackled an incident in Iceland.
It was discovered a burned out motor in an air curtain above the entry door had caught alight.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters from Dovercourt and Manningtree were called to a fire in a shop in High Street, Harwich at 8.30am.
“On arrival, crews reported that the shop was lightly smoke logged and worked to find the cause of the fire.
“Using thermal imaging cameras, firefighters found the fire was caused by a burned out motor in an air curtain above the entry door.
"Crews made the scene safe and left it in the care of the site manager by 10.10am."
It is understood High Street has now reopened.
