A NEW plant shop will be putting down roots in Dovercourt town centre.
B’Leaf, which is a family-run business, will have more than 1,000 plants on offer, with 60 different species for plant lovers to choose from.
Harwich couple Claire Bright, 28, and Peter Weatherill, 48, are hoping to fill a gap in the market by offering a number of extraordinary plants, some of which could only be found in bigger shops or garden centres.
And for Claire, this is a dream come true.
She said:”I have always liked plants but during Covid Peter would always come back with another new plant for me and my collection has just grown and grown.
“I think they are really attractive and can give you loads of mental health benefits.”
The couple will also be running their business in a sustainable way and reusing packaging, while trying to offer affordable prices to their customers.
Claire added: “We will have harder-to-find plants like alocasia plants, which you don’t really get unless you are in a garden centre.
“We haven’t got much choice around here and that is why I really wanted this shop.”

You can find the shop at 5 Central House, High Street, CO12 3PT.
