A STOLEN motorcycle has been recovered by police and work is underway to reunite it with its owner.

The Tendring Community Policing Team had received a call from an eagle-eyed member of the public, who had noticed a Red Honda CBF125 motorcycle pushed over an embankment and hidden in overgrown bushes in Harwich.

The report was made on January 4.

This person then managed to recover the motorcycle from the overgrowth and pushed it into the nearest road, Sweden Close.

Officers attended the scene to carry out roadside checks and it was concluded the motorcycle had a false number plate.

It has also emerged the motorcycle had been stolen on December 3 from outside the Harwich area.

A spokesman for the Tendring Community Policing Team said: " Thanks to this person the motorcycle has been recovered and will be reunited with the owner, if anyone has any information in regards to this stolen motor cycle you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
