A RESPECTED leader of a north Essex hotel and restaurant chain has been given a prestigious role.
Paul Milsom, of Milsom Hotels and Restaurants, has been named life president of Pride of Britain Hotels, a collection of Britain’s finest independently-owned hotels.
The honour has been given in recognition of Mr Milsom’s unique contribution to the industry.
Mr Milsom’s late father, Gerald, founded PBH back in 1982.
He believed there was need for a UK-specific hotel marketing collection.
Mr Milsom said: “It is an honour to follow in my father’s footsteps as Pride of Britain Hotels’ life president. I have always believed in the power of Pride of Britain Hotels consortium and the support it provides to UK hotels.”
Mr Milsom served as chairman of PBH between 2003 and 2006, also acting as a mentor for member hoteliers over the years.
Maison Talbooth in Dedham was chosen as the founding member of the consortium, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
Gerald Milsom was Life President until his death in 2005, when the title passed to George Goring.
Mr Goring sadly passed away in 2020 leaving the vacancy that Mr Milsom has filled.
