COMPASSIONATE volunteers are appealing for help as they prepare to send another van with essential items to help Ukraine’s humanitarian crisis.
The Harwich Ukraine Support project, which was launched by Harwich-based North Essex Support Team, has been collecting for the refugee appeal since March.
The volunteers are now encouraging residents to help once again with donations, which will be used to support Ukrainian refugees fleeing to Moldova.
Volunteer Kitty Claire Bridges, of Harwich, said: “We are working with Rob Brown from TEECH who is making regular trips to Moldova.
“There is a lot of support for other areas like Poland but now there is a big cry for support for items to be sent to there.
“We have another van due to be leaving in May and a very specific list of donation items.
“The items we need are nappies, wipes, non prescription medicines, sanitary products, adult toiletries blankets and a big push on non perishables food.
“We have an amazing team of volunteers who are sorting and packing boxes as the donations arrive.”
All donations can be dropped of at The Harwich Space in George Street in Harwich.
