A RESIDENT who devotes her time to helping others has been praised for her selfless volunteering.
Marion Kadlec, a councillor and long-serving volunteer in Parkeston, was recognised for her efforts by Nick Alston, the High Sheriff of Essex.
Mr Alston was joined by Andrew Clarke, grants officer at the Essex Community Foundation, to give Marion a certificate.
Bill Davidson, chairman of Ramsey and Parkeston Parish Council, said: “Marion volunteers within the Parkeston Welfare Park and Residents' Association community events.
“She also volunteers in running a tea and chat club and if that wasn’t enough, she comes out in rain or shine running her tea hut where 100 per cent of the profit is donated to the Parkeston Welfare Park Football Club.
“I’d like to thank Marion for her dedication and help in providing the Parkeston community with a lot of joy and cheer, congratulations.”
Ms Kadlec has lived in the area for many years and is regularly involved in litter-picking and delivering the regular newsletters published by Parkeston Resident’s Association
Mr Alston has handed out a number of awards to different organisations for their services in aid of the community.
He recently visited Community Voluntary Services (CVS) Tendring in Dovercourt to present certificates to volunteers.
