A TEMPORARY closure to a car park will commence in order to facilitate a resurfacing.
Mistley Parish Council has announced that works will begin shortly to resurface the car park in Furze Hill, adjacent to the village hall.
The works, which have been made possible by a section 106 grant from Tendring Council will take up to two weeks to complete.
A spokesman for Mistley Parish Council said: “The car park will be closed for the duration of the works and anyone wishing to access Furze Hill, Mistley Village Hall, Mistley Rugby Club or Ramsey and Mistley FC by vehicle should enter via the alternative entrance near the junction of Shrubland Road and California Road.
“The gate will be open between 8am and 6pm daily and we regret that the glass recycling facilities at Furze Hill will be unavailable for the duration of the works.
“Pedestrian entrance at the main entrance will still be possible, and the children’s play area, along with all facilities other than the car park, will remain open during the works.
“We apologise for any inconvenience the temporary closure of the car park may cause, but looks forward to being able to offer improved car parking facilities to our residents and visitors following the improvement works.”
The works will begin at 8am on Tuesday, December 6, for any questions regarding the works email mistleyparishclerk@gmail.com or call 07982 507584.
