A PARENT is calling on businesses and residents to help raise funds for her son’s football club.
Parkeston Welfare Park (PWP) is mainly run and maintained on donations and PWP Football Club has only charged a third of the normal season’s price so more children can take part.
Sky-Crystel Davis is looking to raise funds to get the teams what they need to keep playing football affordable.
Ms Davis said: “I’m asking local business or people who would be willing to donate a voucher or anything that could either be raffled off at our next presentation or something to go in a hamper within the next couple of weeks.”
The football club was founded in 2015 and has previously competed in the Colchester and District Youth League.
It has seen success with its under 15s finishing as runners-up in previous years.
A spokesman for the club said: “Parkeston Welfare Park football club was created to give the children of the area some outside activity.
“Our aim was to create a team that would not only be about fitness but also create lasting friendship amongst the players, parents and supporters alike.”
