OTTERS have been spotted in the river near a popular glamping site and cafe.
Constable Park, opened by Ian and Sarah Williams in Bergholt Road, Brantham, last year, has welcomed three otters.
The park was opened in July 2021 alongside the cabins for glamping.
The otters were seen enjoying a swim alongside the river near the park.
Constable Park offers kayak and paddleboard hire throughout the summer and visitors may be able to catch a glimpse of the adorable visitors.
European otters, which visited the site, are excellent swimmers, and they can be seen hunting in wetlands, rivers and along the coast.
These animals are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.
Otters mainly feed on fish, particularly eels and salmonids, waterbirds, amphibians and crustaceans.
They require clean rivers, with an abundant source of food and plenty of vegetation to hide their secluded holts, which Constable Park provides.
The couple's work on the park was supported by a Royal Development Grant worth £124,000 to help fund the site, which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
