A SET of police officers visited residents during a ‘street meet’ to offer advice on crime prevention.
Police community support officers from the Harwich community policing team held the event along The Walls in Manningtree on Friday, April 14.
The crew were joined by an officer from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service who was able to offer home safety advice and free smoke alarms.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “The officers spoke with several people, we are always looking for new locations so please let us know if you have somewhere you would like us to visit with a Street Meet in Tendring or a local community group.
“Any suggestions can be sent to our dedicated e-mail address tendringcpt@essex.police.uk.
street meets and all our engagement events are advertised on the events tab on our Facebook page.
“Please come along if you have any questions or concerns about crime in the area or wish to make us aware of issues affecting the community.”
You can organise a street meet by contacting police and no appointment is needed.
Attendees will be able to speak to officers who know the area in person to discuss important issues.
