A SWIMMING club used its new diving blocks for the first time following a fundraising campaign to find replacements.
Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston Swimming Club (HDPSC) launched a fundraiser in February to replace the old blocks which wore down over time.
The club used the new blocks last Saturday at its 200m championships.

Danielle Pickersgill, who is part of the club’s fundraising and social team, said the blocks are important for members to achieve their goals.
She said: “By purchasing these blocks they will help our swimmers to achieve even more than they currently are.”
The club’s old starting blocks had anchors already built into the pool deck, making replacement fitting easier.
Funds were raised through other fundraisers, a beneficiary and donations from businesses.
Carmel Parker, club secretary, added: “The blocks will enable club swimmers to compete on a more level playing field at galas and open meets, and swimmers were thrilled to try them out at our home meet.
“Many thanks to Paul Higgon-Williams, the Rotary club, TDC Shared Prosperity Fund, JP Plumbing, Haltermann Carless Ltd and all those who supported our fundraising efforts over the past few years to replace our 38-year old blocks - we are grateful to you all.”
