A COUNCIL is asking for residents’ views on proposals to create a neighbourhood plan for Ardleigh.
Ardleigh Parish Council has produced and submitted a draft neighbourhood plan for the area to Tendring Council, along with several supporting documents.
The district’s local plan was adopted last January but parish and town councils can also prepare their own individual neighbourhood plans at any time.
A six-week consultation on the draft neighbourhood plan is currently running with residents and other interested parties invited to comment.
Gary Guiver, director for planning at Tendring Council, encouraged people to take part in the consultation.
He said: “A neighbourhood plan gives communities more say in the future of their area, but it has to be right for that area.
“A lot of work has gone into preparing this draft, and I urge people in Ardleigh to read and comment on the proposals during the consultation period.”
Tendring Council will be hosting two in person-consultation events at Ardleigh Village Hall on Monday, May 22, between 6pm and 8pm and Thursday, June 1, from 11am to 2pm.
These events will coincide with exhibitions for the Tendring Colchester Border Garden Community consultation.
The draft neighbourhood plan runs until Monday, June 26, and it can be found by visiting bit.ly/3LLL2L0.
To submit comments, email the planning policy department at planning.policy@tendringdc.gov.uk or write to William Fuller at Tendring Council, Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO15 1SE by 5pm on June 26.
