FIREFIGHTERS have been working overnight to tackle a large derelict building fire in Fronks Road, Dovercourt.
On arrival just prior to 9pm yesterday, July 25, crews reported that a large detached building was on fire with the fire spreading throughout the building.
Crews have been working to extinguish the fire in sections using an Aerial Ladder Platform to tackle the fire from above and with crews working to extinguish the fire from the ground.
Crews from Dovercourt, Colchester and Manningtree are at the scene.
Residents who live nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors closed as the fire is producing lots of smoke, as well as avoid the area as crews work to extinguish the fire."
A spokesman for Dovercourt Fire Station added sections of Fronks road and Hall Lane are closed.
