A HARWICH pub honoured the efforts of volunteer workers during a special event.
The Royal Oak, in Main Road, Dovercourt, put on their annual RNLI charity event.
Although a lifeboat was first stationed in Harwich back in 1821, it was not until 1876 that the RNLI placed a boat alongside a shed to keep in.
In April 2023, Harwich RNLI celebrated 4,000 acts of service after its all-weather lifeboat came to the aid of three people in distress.
The Royal Oak's landlady Andrea King was behind the event and it was the twelfth edition since the pub began holding the event.
Taking place from 1pm to 6pm, the event included six live acts, cocktails, games, BBQ, DJs and a raffle.
Andrea said a total of £321 was raised on the day.
She added: “All the musicians gave up their time for free. The musicians and Tendring Event DJs came and performed for free.
"The day was a raging success with raffles, yard of ale competition. A big thank you to everybody who turned up, gave up their time.
"Obviously, the customers that came in and supported it.”
