A HARWICH hotel is teaming up with the Electric Palace Cinema to host a series of Film and Food Movie nights.
The partnership between Electric Palace and The Pier Hotel began due to the efforts of the Harwich Tourism Group.
It was then furthered by Electric Palace’s restoration, which was made possible through the support of the Lottery Heritage Fund.
Built in 1911, the Electric Palace has had its share of stardom, notably featuring prominently in the latest Downton Abbey movie instalment.
Some of the films shown to date include Mamma Mia and its sequel, Christmas classic Love Actually, The Greatest Showman and 1992’s The Bodyguard starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.
In addition to the film, each experience also includes a three-course dinner with a tailored menu for the specific event.
For a further touch of elegance, guests are welcomed with a cocktail, included in the £49.50 ticket price.
Following a brief hiatus during the summer, the events are now making their triumphant return for the Autumn and Winter seasons.
The new line-up features three new screenings, beginning with Rocketman on Thursday, October 5.
Released in 2019, this biopic stars Taron Egerton as Elton John, also featuring Jamie Bell, Stephen Graham and Richard Madden.
On Thursday, November 2, guests will be able to view Dirty Dancing, the classic 1987 dance drama starring Patrick Swayze as a dance instructor at a holiday resort.
Lastly, The Holiday will be screened on Wednesday, December 7.
Released in 2006, this romantic comedy stars Jude Law and Cameron Diaz.
A spokesman from Milsom Hotels and Restaurants said: "This collaboration between The Pier Hotel and the Electric Palace Cinema promises to transport patrons to a world of cinematic entertainment and culinary delight.
"It's an experience that not only celebrates the rich history of Harwich but also paves the way for exciting new memories. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the silver screen, where film and food converge in perfect harmony."
Film enthusiasts can look forward to further announcements in January, February and March.
