A RAMSEY dance academy teacher is celebrating after achieving an impressive 96 per cent on an assessment.
Katie Rawlins-Waumsley started training with the Boogie Shoes Dance Academy three years ago and is now fully qualified in both dance and aerobics.
The exams were conducted by the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing), a registered charity and of the leading dance examination boards in the UK and worldwide.
Founder of Boogie Shoe Dance Academy, Katie Roberta Gooch, and Georgia Simpson, who has been a teacher at the academy for more than10 years, are also both fully qualified.
Katie said that since having their new colleague on board, they have seen a “huge increase in class numbers and competition achievements”, and added: “Most importantly the kids at Boogie Shoes Dance Academy adore her."
The examiner who marked the academy said: “A most stylish and expressive performance - all routines had been well thought out displaying very good style, contrast, and creativity."
They added: “A very capable and caring teacher displaying a passion for the profession - good voice and manner which is most suitable when teaching."
Boogie Shoes Dance Academy will also be celebrating its 18th birthday in July this year with an energetic dance show.
