A MANNINGTREE theatre has unveiled a new defibrillator following a generous donation from one of its members.
Manifest Theatre’s new defibrillator was made possible due to the “generous donation” from volunteer and Manifest life member, Alistair Mitchell of AD. Mitchell Electrical Contractors.
The defibrillator has a “prime position” on the exterior wall of the theatre in Oxford Road, Manningtree meaning residents can now access the lifesaving device.
Dedicated first responder Simon Tavner also registered the defibrillator for the theatre meaning Manifest Theatre can continue to do regular checks on the device throughout the year to make sure it properly working in case of an emergency.
A spokesperson for the Manifest Theatre thanked the “continued generosity” of the Lawford Parish Council and its chairman Val Guglielmi for the theatre’s latest grant as well Essex County councillor Carlo Guglielmi who has supported the theatre with various grants from the Essex Locality Fund over the years.
The spokesperson added: “Hopefully, this defibrillator will not be used too often, but if it needs to, it will now be available for use becoming the fourth asset to our community in Manningtree."
