POLICE have detained two vehicles after a check for stolen plant equipment leaving the country from Harwich Port.
Officers were at the port on Tuesday night searching more than 100 lorries for stolen goods.
No confirmed stolen items were found, but two earth movers were held for further checks.
A spokesman for Essex Police rural engagement team said: “We attended Harwich Port with officers from the National Construction and Agricultural Theft Team to search for stolen plant leaving the UK.
“The team searched over 100 lorries.
"Two earth movers have been detained for further checks.”
