The dedicated volunteer crew of the Harwich RNLI lifeboat jumped into action while on a training exercise with the Coastguard helicopter.
A kayaker capsized on the River Deben near Waldingfield on March 24, leading to a prompt response from the lifesaving charity volunteers.
The inshore lifeboat and a helicopter engaged in the mission, ensuring the safe recovery of all the people involved.
Thanks to the collaborative effort between the air and sea unit, as well as the assistance of the harbour master, everyone was safely recovered.
Despite the interruption to the scheduled training exercise, the lifeboat crew remained undeterred, prioritising the safety and wellbeing to those in distress.
After the incident, the inshore lifeboat stood by to ensure all those involved were accounted for and in good health.
The charity thanked those who assisted in the rescue effort.
A spokesman said: “The Harwich lifeboat crew extends its gratitude to all involved in the successful resolution of this incident, including the Harbour Master and the helicopter crew.
“Their swift and effective response exemplifies the collaborative spirit of maritime safety operations.”
