A GROUP dedicated to maintaining a historic hall in Harwich will be hosting a fundraising valuation day.
Colchester-based auctioneers Reeman Dansie will be at Harwich's Esplanade Hall to value antiques and collectables, although there is no pressure to sell.
Organised by The Friends of Esplanade Hall, the event will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 9.30am to 1pm.
Overall, the cost is £2 per item and there is no need to book, with visitors invited to come along on the day.
Refreshments will be available at an additional cost.
This is not the first fundraising event planned by the Friends of Esplanade Hall for 2024.
From 10am on Saturday, June 15 there will be a book sale at the hall with a large variety of donated books on sale.
There are also plans for a Harwich Sale Trail during the August bank holiday Sunday, where residents will be able to sell unwanted items from outside their homes.
It is hoped the fee of £5 per house will get residents in Harwich Old Town on the sale trail map, which will be sold at Esplanade Hall on the day.
All monies raised through the fundraising events go towards the upkeep and maintenance of Esplanade Hall, the former Victorian infants school in Wellington Road, Harwich.
