A HARWICH choir partnered with a cohort of musicians to help cover the cost of village schools performing at an upcoming arts extravaganza.
Harwich Sing Tendring Voices, Dovercourt Ukuleles and Harwich Festival representatives came together on Saturday April 13 for a special show.
The show was staged at the Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre to raise funds for schools in the area hoping to showcase their talents at Harwich Festival's School Community Concert.
The last school community concert took place in 2019 meaning the next event, which will be held on June 28 at St Nicholas Church, in Harwich, at 1.30pm, will be the first since the pandemic.
In total the event raised £340.
Clare Leach from Harwich Sing will lead the children’s concert and said the fundraising event on Saturday was a success with a “really happy and relaxed atmosphere” with everyone in “fine voice”.
Clare said all local primary schools have been invited to take part in the upcoming concert.
She said: “We start our preparations and practices next month and as always we promise to bring a fun packed music experience for all the kids.
“It is wonderful when different community groups come together to perform.
“We are going to raise the roof.”
