A DRUG smuggler who admitted smuggling cocaine into Harwich couldn’t be sentenced because he wasn’t transported from prison for a court hearing.
Rolf Warnars had been due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday after he admitted one count of importing Class A drugs into the UK.
But Judge Mary Loram KC was told that Warnars, 41, had not been transported to the court from his cells in HMP Peterborough.
Sasha Bailey, defending, said: “He appears not to be on the cells list – Peterborough appear to have missed him somehow."
Warnars, whose address was not provided by the courts, will be sentenced on Monday, May 22.
