HARWICH’S Skate Park Jam – an off-shoot of the popular Tour De Tendring – is returning with prizes for all ages in the upcoming family fun day.
The free event for skaters, scooterists and BMX riders is funded by Harwich Town Council and supported by Tendring Council.
It will take place on May 19 at Harwich Skate Park in Wick Lane.
The event was first launched in 2018 and spearheaded by Harwich councillor Jo Henderson, who said: “It’s a really good free event for local people and for people outside of the town who have an interest in skating.
“Running it with conjunction with Tour de Tendring is also good as we do not have to double up on certain things like First Aid."
Ms Henderson said if it is “absolutely pouring it down”, however, the event would have to be cancelled.
There will be music, rider demos, competitions, prizes as well as catering stores, an ice cream van, and other eateries for people to eat.
The event takes place from noon to 4pm on Sunday May 19 and book here skateboardgb.org/event/dovercourt-skatepark-jam.
