A free game for schoolchildren based in parts of Tendring is to be launched.
Street tag starts for schools in Walton, Kirby, Frinton, Harwich and Dovercourt on June 3 - the first of three seasons.
By allowing children to collect 'virtual tags' on the street tag app, youngsters can collect points around the area by walking, running, cycling or scooting.
The app is designed to boost physical activity by getting children to hunt for the virtual tags which can be found in many different places, including school routes, parks and public spaces.
The app also allows people to add their own tag to a location.
Points can also be earned by completing challenges and attending events.
There will be prizes at the end of each season, with £100 for first place and £75 for second.
Game co-ordinator Becky Dowling said: “We are really excited to bring the schools game to Harwich, Dovercourt, Walton and Frinton.
“The community have already started street tag off with a great number of residents signing up to enjoy another active game on the streets and we can’t wait for the schools to join in the fun.”
There are also prizes for those who cover the most distance, amongst other incentives.
