A PROJECTER fault has meant Harwich's Electric Palace has had to cancel recent screenings, with the aim to re-open in June.
Bosses say it could take a few weeks to fix the problem and hope to start shows again on June 13.
All tickets will be automatically refunded, with screenings of ROH Live: The Winters Tail and the Fall Guy being cancelled.
The Harwich Electric Palace Trust was awarded a £249,893 grant in May by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Harwich's Electric Palace Trust is also looking to employ an experienced archivist as part of the National Lottery funding, with the successful candidate being on a salary of £28,000 for a flexible 21-hour week.
The Electric Palace was built in 1911, only two years after the Cinematograph Act, making it one of the world’s oldest purpose-built cinemas.
To fundraise and help the cinema, film fans are urged to attend screenings or donate.
