WRABNESS Community Shop held its second social event of the year with about 70 people turning out for a retro dance.
About 70 people attended the Dansette Days retro music night on May 25, raising more than £500 for the community shop.
Ska, reggae and soul music from the 50s, 60 and 70s was played on a 'Dansette' – a British brand of record player - by 'Dansette Dave' at the free event.
Wrabness Community Shop committee member Marc De'ath said: “It was very busy, and the purpose of the event was two-fold - to raise awareness for what we do and to raise some money for the shop.
“There was jerk curry food from the Station Guard next door, and it was good fun."
Marc, said that for each quarter, the village shop will be holding a social event, with an earlier virtual horse racing night starting the year off.
On July 20, there will be a summer cocktail evening, with soul bossa nova, cocktail music and a barbecue.
Wrabness Community Shop, Cafe and Bar has been “a hub of village life” since the 1950s –up until the shop’s closure in 2011.
Two years later Grayson Perry officially opened the new community shop in Black Boy Lane.
