A HARWICH man has admitted committing a string burglaries across the town and is due to be sentenced for a total of 19 offences.

Harwich town centre had been plagued by a series of break-ins, leaving residents and business owners worried.

At the start of this month, Essex Police appealed for help finding Luke Harvey who was later arrested on June 5. 

The following day, he admitted to 11 shop thefts across Harwich between March 31 and May 27.

On Monday (June 17), Harvey, 30, of Valley Road, appeared before Chelmsford magistrates again.

He admitted committing six burglaries – five at commercial premises and one a domestic property – between April 19 and June 3.

Harvey also admitted to carrying out two shop thefts on June 9.

He is due to be sentenced at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 15 for all 19 offences.
