A PLAY with a poignant message about prostate cancer is coming to a Manningtree theatre - and it is hoping to raise lots of money for charity once again.
Saddle Sore will be making its way to the Manifest Theatre from August 23-24, featuring performances from amateur actors Kevin Topple, Joe Geddis and Gary Huggins.
It previously sold out when being performed in Colchester and managed to raise more than £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Writer and actor Kevin Topple said: “Saddle Sore premiered as a one-act play at the Colchester Fringe in 2022 at four sold-out shows.
"Following critical acclaim and a five-star review from BritishTheatre.com, the play was re-written to become a two-hour play with an interval.
"Then we played three sold-out shows at the Headgate Theatre, Colchester.
"It’s now going on tour around Suffolk and Essex to various venues - next stop Manningtree!"
The story follows two pals who work together to raise money in memory of a friend who passed away.
Kevin continued: "This is the story of Kev and Joe who go on a bike ride to raise money in memory of their friend Dave, who has recently died.
"It’s not only a journey around East Anglia, but also a journey of discovery as they finally open up to each other about their innermost feelings.
"It’s very much a comedy - expect lycra, doughnuts, Sudocrem, Superman pants and even more doughnuts.”
All profits from the show will go to Prostate Cancer UK.
Tickets are £10 for members and £12 for non-members.
