MISTLEY Rugby Club is bringing back the free Furze Hill Pram Race after the success of last year’s event to mark the King’s coronation.
After a 45-year hiatus, Mistley’s off-road pram race returned last year in May to mark King Charles III’s coronation and moved to Furze Hill where there is more space.
This year’s event will take place on August Bank Holiday August 26 and will again see adults in fancy dress, often as babies, competing in teams of two.
At 2pm the children’s racing starts, before the adult pram race at 3pm.
This will be followed a dog show at 4.30pm and then music by the rock cover band Keystone from 6pm.
Charlotte Howell, former chairman of Mistley Parish Council, came up with the idea last year and reached out to the Mistley RUFC as the two groups have a close working relationship.
Entry is free and entry forms are available via email at mistleypramrace@gmail.com.
