A TOWN'S slowest charity walk will take place for its 16th year at the Harwich Society’s Bobbit’s Hole Nature Reserve in Dovercourt.
Bobbit’s Hole nature reserve, by Main Road in the heart of Dovercourt,is open free of charge to the public each Sunday morning throughout the year.
On Sunday, August 4, the latest ‘Bobbit’s Stroll’ will take place, with visitors being asked to donate before walking around the lake.
This year, the chosen charity is the We Care Wildlife Rescue Centre, which is a Brantham-based rescue and rehabilitation service for animals and birds.
Harwich Society chairman Colin Farnell said: “The Bobbit’s Stroll has become incredibly popular over the years and the volunteers who maintain Bobbit’s Hole are looking forward to welcoming visitors to this year’s event.
“It really is an occasion for all ages and whether you wish to explore the reserve doing the children’s quiz trail or sit by the lake enjoying the view over a cup of tea, there will be something for you to enjoy while raising money for a very good cause.”
Cakes and refreshments will be on sale and there will also be a tombola, raffle and a children’s quiz trail.
Homestart Harwich will be running activities for children at the event which is accessible through the gate in the Asda supermarket car park.
