A DOVERCOURT man is hosting a charity fundraising event at The Royal Oak next month to support Cancer Research UK after the death of her mother in 2019.

Taylor Roberts, 18, will be holding a charity fundraising event at The Royal Oak on August 10 from noon to 9pm to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The event will feature live music from local talent including Mike Carran, Ruby Poole, Dan Turner, Chris and Paddy, Wendy Wild, and Ruby Ambrose.

Taylor, who raised more than £1500 last year, said all proceeds will go directly to charity and there would be a BBQ, a seafood stand, a raffle and stalls at the fun day.

He said: “I’m really excited to organise an event which is accessible to everyone in the community which is raising the much-needed funds for Cancer research UK for preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer sooner.”

He added: “All of us been affected by cancer either directly or indirectly, either with a family, a friend, or colleague, so the sooner we beat cancer the better".

“I hope this event will not only raise awareness about cancer but also bring our community together to support a cause that affects so many lives.”

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for under-15s, and to donate visit fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/party-in-the-park-for-cancer-research-uk.
