Tendring’s Panther Travels offers final free day service this weekend

Panther Travel, a family-run bus company that covers Tendring, will be closing as it has no “guaranteed work”. 

This follows the end of its bus contract with Essex County Council for the number two Harwich Route.

Panther Travel’s final day will be Saturday July 27 and alongside the normal scheduled service, a free bus service will be run.

Residents are being encouraged to come along and join if they can.

Adam and Diane Barham, owners of Panther Travel, said: “We personal would like to thank all our staff, past and present for what we believe has offered excellent service to you, our passengers over the years”.

“Of course we would also like to thank you, our passengers for your valuable support”.

From Monday July 29, the 2 and 118 services will be run by Hedingham Buses.

A spokesman Hedingham buses said that there would be no changes to the routes.

Panther Travel was established in 2009 with two vehicles and worked with many organisations including schools and rail companies, having a head office in Harwich.

Here are the Provisional buses for tomorrow:

Green and yellow Leyland National JHJ150V at 0905, 1305 and 1605

SB07PAN plaxton Primo at 1005 - 1405 and 1605 to be confirmed

BIG9856 at 1105, 1305, 1505

Vb08pan - the normal fare paying service bus - on the normal schedule
