A NEW nature playground has been opened at the site of a huge housing development on the border of Mistley and Lawford.
Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Mary P helped unveil the playground at Manningtree Park, on Long Road.
The development will see 484 homes built when it is complete.
Families already living in the new development, built by developer City and Country, gathered together on picnic rugs at the official opening of the natural playground on Friday
There was live music from Mary P as well as free pizza from The Mobile Pizza Co, ice cream, and giant lawn games.
The playground is a safe environment for families with the entrance being marked by a bespoke willow arch.
There is a balance trail, including logs, stepping stones, boulders, weaving up and down mound, as well as wooden hurdles, a slide, and a swing set.
Marco Sidoli, regional development director east at City and Country said: “The addition of a playground was a natural addition when designing the development.
“The newly installed play area will offer families a wonderfully creative and safe environment to enjoy quality time in the great outdoors.”
He added: “Our Manningtree development has been beautifully designed to reflect the beauty of the local Essex area, with community at its heart.
“There are plenty of places for residents to meet and come together, including a designated off-lead dog walking area, the playground, and soon, a farm shop and café.”
Manningtree Park began welcoming residents in 2023.
