A cricket and beer festival is returning this month, with live music scheduled for each day.
Mistley Cricket Club’s cricket and beer festival will run from August 13-18, starting on the Tuesday with a' junior and kwick' - also known as quick cricket, tournament.
The beer fest – featuring six cask ales and two guest draft beers from local breweries – starts on Wednesday, August 14, and ends on Friday, August 16.
Each day there will be evening activities including a family barbecue on the Tuesday, a quiz on Wednesday, and live music from the band Keystone on the Friday.
On Thursday, August 15, the club will host cricket teams from Great Bromley, Hadleigh and Elmstead in the Rose Bowl, sponsored by Rose Builders, with the winning club taking home £500.
There are no activities planned for the Saturday, but on Sunday the festival will conclude with a fundraiser with music and pizza for Prostrate Cancer UK.
Mistley Cricket Club secretary Robin Mills said: “Our cricket festival is open to everybody and is always well supported by the local community.
“There’s nowhere better to be on a sunny day than watching cricket so I’d encourage people to come along and enjoy a drink, the atmosphere and some cricket.”
Tickets are free and the festival is open to all.
