HARWICH and Dovercourt High School students celebrated their GCSE results today with some amazing individual successes with one highflyer going to Colchester Royal Grammar School.
Student Lucas Wickens achieved eight 9s (A**) and two 8s (A*), meaning he will now be going to Colchester Royal Grammar School.
Lucas, who will now be studying maths, biology, chemistry, and history, said: “I’m excited to go to Colchester Royal Grammar School but Harwich and Dovercourt High School has been great.
“The teaching has been really good, so I would like to say thanks to all my teachers.”
While Lucas’ mum added that it was “a massive achievement” to go to the state-funded grammar school on Lexden Road in Colchester.
Harwich and Dovercourt High School Headteacher Kate Finch praised Lucas as well as other high-achieving student, adding: “We are really proud of all their efforts, and we have had some amazing individual successes.
“The whole year has worked really hard to secure their next step, we will really miss this year.”
