A DOVERCOURT woman is launching a new aesthetics salon and wellness clinic in Harwich.
Megan Burke, 25, is officially launching her Face Forwards Enhancements salon on the High Street next Tuesday, offering aesthetic, anti-aging and skincare treatments.
Megan, who opened her business on Monday (September 16), will be joined by reiki specialist and intuitive healer Nicola Fleurie, semi-permanent make-up specialist Emma Hope, and skin-care aesthetician and lash and brow specialist Mia Butler.
Megan said: “I was working as a nurse previously, doing aesthetics from home as a side hobby, and I made the made the jump to go full-time working at home for the past year.
“I was really scared as I had a quite a secure job as a nurse.
"I really enjoyed it, but I wasn’t as passionate as at the aesthetics side.
"Business really picked up and it has gone better than I expected.
“I already have a good client base as I have been working from home for three years - 640 at my last count, and they are mostly from Harwich.
“It’s usually the Oaks Hospital in Colchester, which is the nearest for anything private.
"Private medical services like this are not available in Harwich. This will help to bring a few people back into the town.”
Megan also hopes to introduce a midwife who is a qualified hypnotherapist, a doctor specialising in menopause and fertility clinics, and an additional registered nurse.
Megan is fully booked for the next few months due to existing clients.
She said although her costs are high, she plans to do offers and her business is on the “more affordable end” compared to others.
She added: “I’m all for Botox and fillers, they can give a confidence boost.
“I don’t like the overfilled look, but I try to keep the results as unnoticeable to the general eye and more noticeable just to the person."
