SCHOOLS from Harwich and Oakley fought for a prestigious football trophy this week.

The annual Harwich Sports Association Indoor Football Tournament took place on Monday at Harwich and Dovercourt High School, with ten primary schools from the Harwich and Oakley area taking part.

 Organisers said the standard of playing improved match by match.

Chase Lane and Mayflower B topped their groups and beat Wix and Wrabness and Two Village schools in their semi-finals.

Second - Runner-ups Mayflower BSecond - Runner-ups Mayflower B (Image: Submitted) Chase Lane won the tournament with a 3-0 victory with two goals coming from Teddy Calver and one from Quinn Valentine.

All of the schools were thanked for taking part, as well as Richard Gambrell and Alfie Canning at Harwich and Dovercourt High School for organising the event, which will take place again next year.
