A SUCCESSFUL dance school in Harwich is set to expand into Colchester and its owner is “really excited” about the launch.
Chloe Carman, 26, is bringing her CC Dance Studios to the Theatricool studios in Chandlers Row.
Although she started dance “quite late” at around the age of ten, she fell in love with the art form.
By the age of fourteen and after attending a dance school, she was asked to compete in national competitions.
At the age of 18, she turned professional but took a hiatus from competing in effort to focus on CC Dance Studios which she founded in 2016.
The business focuses on offering ballroom and Latin dance classes, as well as other styles, to students aged from three-years-old to adults.
Chloe said: “It was mainly to fund further dancing, and further my knowledge on a teaching level, I know I always wanted to do it.
“I started the school before I stopped competing, I ended up taking it to a higher scale.
“Once I stopped competing, I was able to put a lot more time and effort.
“Our most successful style, and most passionate is ballroom and Latin, but we do offer contemporary styles as well.”
Over the years, Chloe has built CC Dance Studios into a successful and thriving business with more than 60 students.
Chloe even returned to professional competing earlier this year, when she won the UK Closed Professional Ten Dance for ballroom and Latin in July.
The new Colchester location will feature a mirrored studio and will initially open only on Fridays for the time being.
Chloe said: “I’ve been thinking about it for a while, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, it’s a part of the county not tapped into for ballroom and Latin.
“I’m really excited, hopefully it will take off, we are excited to welcome new students.
“It will be so nice to take on extra students, we have such an amazing family feel.
“Ballroom and Latin isn’t just what older people do; it can be fun for any age.
“I am really excited, we hope to make this school as successful as the one we have in Harwich.”
