A FUNRDRAISING ball is being held for a 12-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with Usher Syndrome, meaning she will loser her sight.
Audrey Tyrrell, of Dovercourt, has been diagnosed with Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.
Audrey, who is one of four children in the family, now has a list of “visual memories” and experiences the family would like to have before she goes blind.
A black-tie event will be held at the Waterfront, in Dovercourt, at 6.30pm on Saturday to raise funds for the family’s visual memories.
The event will also help to raise awareness of the condition, with Audrey’s mum Tracey Tyrrell telling the guests about Usher syndrome after the dinner.
There will be a glass of Prosecco upon arrival, a professional photographer to capture people in their finery, and a three-course dinner.
Les Nicholl will be the MC and auctioneer, with a raffle, auction and fundraising games taking place.
To finish the evening there will be dancing to live music performed by the Curves.
