HARWICH Society’s final music quiz of the year is being held next week to raise money for St Helena Hospice.
The Harwich Society’s Quiz Team runs monthly general knowledge quiz nights in the Royal Oak public house on the first Monday of each month and music quiz nights about five times a year.
The final music quiz of 2024 will take place at the Royal Oak on Monday November 11 starting at 8pm and is in aid of St Helena Hospice.
Garry Calver, part of the Harwich Society Quiz Team, said: “Our music quizzes have become very popular and, in recent years, we have run the final music quiz of the year on the second Monday in November in aid of St Helena Hospice.
“It is a cause very close to the quiz team and clearly resonates with many people as it is always very well supported. It’s a fun way to raise funds for a very important cause.”
The music quizzes are compiled and produced by Lynsey and Garry Calver, with competing teams hearing 100 pieces of popular music from the 1960s to the present day, with only the artist’s name being used for points.
The quiz is for teams of up to eight people at £2 per head and there is no need to book a table in advance.
