MANNINGTREE fell silent as veterans, councillors and the public came together to pay their respects to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Ruth said: “The service was absolutely lovely.

“I was mayor for four years and this is the first year again and it was so nice to be involved in proceedings.

“It’s a lovely place and lovely people, who made it a fitting service.”

"The Air Cadets service was also very moving and the service as a whole was amazing."
