A PARISH councillor is needed for Ramsey and Parkeston, with anyone who cares about making a difference in the community being urged to sign up.
Ramsey and Parkeston Parish Council serves the two villages' 2,300 parishioners, and has a maximum of 11 councillors.
The council holds monthly meetings throughout the year, apart from August and December, with members of the public allowed to attend.
Council chairman Bill Davidson said: “It’s about working for your community and trying to make it a better place.
“There is no set time structure. You don’t have to do 10 hours a week or any set number, but you are expected to attend the council meeting once a month and to keep your eyes open to any problems so you can contact me or other councils directly.”
Mr Davidson said in the case of an emergency such as a flood, parish councillors would be expected to help the community.
He added: “If there is only candidate we ask them for an interview, ask them questions to see if they are right and they will be co-opted.
"If there are two or more, there will be a vote.”
