A MAN has been arrested following a collision which blocked the A120 this morning.

The accident, which occurred at about 10.30am, involved a lorry and a car between Wix and Horsley Cross.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit.

He has been taken to hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers attended a collision between a car and a lorry on the A120 around 10.30am this morning.

"The collision occurred between Wix and Horsely Cross, and the road was closed to allow us to investigate.

"It has since reopened."

It is understood another accident also occurred in the tailbacks as a result of the road originally being blocked as a result of the incident.
